Rhys Douglas entered the business broking field in mid 2005 and since that time he has acquired a substantial level of practical experience in assisting business owners and purchasers achieve mutually rewarding outcomes across a wide range of business types. He has a strong focus on obtaining a ‘best fit’ in terms of a new business owner maximising the chances of them being able to achieve success in their new business. Most owners that are selling are keen to see the business that they have created and/or nurtured continue to function profitably. Therefore a focus on a prospective new owner having the skills and experience appropriate to the business is a key consideration.

Rhys has a verifiable record of acting in the business sales process with diligence and integrity and he strives to obtain a good understanding of the operations of a business and to compile a comprehensive and informative profile of each business that he presents to the marketplace.

A tertiary qualification in economics coupled with wide ranging business experience in a number of industry sectors has enabled him to effectively relate to and understand a diverse range of businesses. He has worked in advisory/analytical roles in the following fields: Transportation; aviation, shipping and urban transport: Forestry; strategic planning, forest valuation and offshore consulting and management projects: Finance; personal financial planning and commercial banking. Some time has been spent in the management consulting field in the areas of business planning, market research and aspects of human resource management in both New Zealand and offshore locations.

Career experience hasn’t all been theory and analytical. Rhys has a strong practical perspective gained from a number of years, mostly in his earlier working life, in practical occupations. He has been a sheep and cattle farm manager and he also has some dairy farm experience.

All the practical and business experience adds up to being able to relate to a wide range of people and occupations and this is combined with a genuine interest in people and their aspirations. An enquiring mind and an innovative outlook assist in the learning process as Rhys recognises that there is always new situations and challenges. He has some good skills in diplomacy, effective communication and overall he offers some excellent experience and attributes that are appropriate to the business sales process.
