A mainlander from Papakaio, a small town on the outskirts of Oamaru, Gemma started her working career in the dairy industry. Her 16 years of experience in farming and sharemilking of farms of up to 1,200 cows laid a foundation of hard work and long hours.
Gemma then went on to own three Subway restaurants in Christchurch, and ran them concurrently for 5 years prior to selling these and purchasing the Gibbston Tavern. Using her business acumen, she made significant CAPEX, marketing, and local collaboration improvements to create a true destination pub. Gemma kept both the history of the goldminers watering hole, while modernising it to a gastro pub feel with adjacent art gallery, cellar door, and events spaces for hire. She sold the business through LINK.
Gemma is a direct, to the point, no fuss kind of gal. She will give you her honest opinion about the value of your business and how best to sell it.
