Rick has extensive experience developing contracting/service, engineering and manufacturing businesses for export markets, across NZ, Australia, Europe, UK, Asia and the USA. He has held senior corporate roles in medium to large sized entities in NZ, and directorships/advisory roles for companies based in the UK and Australia. Rick has worked across many industry and business segments, from manufacturing, management training, mining and quarrying, along with many 24hour engineering and service delivery companies. He also has 20+ years of experience, at senior strategic and operating levels, in the electrical distribution and contracting industry in New Zealand.

Rick’s strengths lie in strategy development, people management, service delivery, business to business relationships and profit execution. He focuses on sales, mergers, acquisitions (going concern and shareholdings) and divestments of businesses in the value range $500,000 upwards, particularly in import, export, distribution, manufacturing, engineering and service related businesses.

Rick has been based in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty area for most of his working life. His network of contacts is extensive and his business background vast. Drawing from both, Rick can readily connect buyers with the “right” business and ensure that vendors get the best possible return on their investment.

Rick worked with us on the purchase of a business to integrate into our existing company. Our aim was to broker a deal where all parties came away satisfied and on good terms. Rick was really good in facilitating this particularly during due diligence and final negotiations.

Rick was ‘amazing’ an absolute pleasure to deal with! Professional, friendly, helpful, great advice, nothing was ever a problem, honest and could enjoy a joke/laugh also. A real asset to LINK.

Rick and I formed part of the Senior Executive team in a large corporate contracting organisation during a time of significant change.  Throughout this period we successfully executed the purchase and/or sale of several SME’s, mainly as Joint Venture partners.  This included the preparation and valuations for sale, both sides of the due diligence process, the integration and in some cases Governance of the new subsidiary business.  At all times Rick would demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen & integrity while ensuring the appropriate value was received for his stakeholder.  Rick could form & articulate a strategic vision for the organisations and ensure the structure was appropriate to deliver on these objectives.

I have known Rick for fifteen years. He was appointed General Manager, later to become the Managing Director, of a mid-sized engineering firm. My role with Rick was as Chair of the Board and he performed exceptionally well for the company. He has strong management skills and is a very good communicator with excellent strategic thought processes. Rick was instrumental in building the financial base of the company, strengthening its place in the NZ market and developing off shore markets through to positioning the company for a successful sale and taking a leadership role through the sale process. I have maintained a friendship with Rick since the sale of the company and am happy to recommend him for future management / leadership roles in business.

As Managing Director of Stevenson Group I worked with Rick on the multimillion dollar purchase of a large engineering and technology based company to integrate into our group. The transaction was completed to my expectations and satisfaction and I found Rick to be very thorough and professional in his approach, and his relationship with myself and all other parties involved in the transaction was exemplary. I would unhesitatingly use Rick again to undertake any similar transaction.
