Born in Rotorua, Steve is a proud Bay of Plenty local. He joined BP Oil in 1973 and went on to have a stellar career spanning 26 years. He was appointed many and varied roles over his career; operations, storage and handling, and nationwide fuel distribution. One of Steve’s many career highlights was managing Wiri Oil Services Ltd. in Auckland. Experience in the industry helped him to gain a broad understanding of storage and handling, distribution planning, and supply chain logistics.
After a departure from the Oil Industry Steve ventured into retail, and together with his wife he established a well-known gift store in Mount Maunganui. A move into local manufacturing was to follow. Steve bought into a manufacturing company in 2001, he went on to take full ownership of the business in 2007, before successfully selling it through LINK.
The experience and knowledge that Steve gained from his working and business ownership career awarded him a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in business. He understands the complexities of preparing a business for sale, and his tool kit proves invaluable when it comes to achieving the best results.

What others say about Steve Catley:
"Steve followed our sale right through to the end and pushed hard for this sale. We would have no hesitation in recommending Link and Steve for your business sale."
"My husband and myself engaged Link Business Brokers to sell our small business. We were very pleased with the work that Steve Catley did to enable the sale at a price we were very happy with. We appreciated the ease of communication with Steve, always responding to both our questions and that of the purchaser with promptness and clarity, while also being very professional. He is friendly and approachable with no question too much trouble to answer. We know that he went the extra mile to network the purchaser with helpful contacts so the purchaser was better informed about the type of business we were selling. We would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to see their business, not just a small business like ours but in our opinion he would be well equipped to broker larger businesses as well."
