Nick Giles is the Head of Hospitality New Zealand at LINK and a multi-award-winning business broker. Despite his strategic role in developing LINK’s hospitality team across the country, Nick remains deeply connected to his roots as a broker. In fact, he’s one of the best-known and most successful brokers in the sector!
Over two decades ago, Nick decided to leave his office job to pursue his love for hospitality, marking the start of his journey in the industry. After six months of research and preparation, he purchased Roasted Addiqtion Café in Kingsland, which he owned and operated for five years. The experience of buying, managing, and eventually selling his own café ignited a desire to help other business owners navigate the sales process, leading him to LINK. His hands-on experience as a business owner has equipped him with valuable insights, making him an empathetic and knowledgeable guide for his clients.
Throughout the years, Nick has consistently ranked among the top 3 salespeople at LINK, with a growing track record of selling over $130 million worth of hospitality businesses! His accomplishments are further highlighted by countless sought-after awards, including the 2016 and 2017 New Zealand Broker of the Year and International Broker of the Year titles. He has also achieved Chairman’s Club status four times! Nick’s strength lies in understanding both the financial and operational aspects of hospitality businesses and his ability to uncover and enhance the true value of each business he sells.
Nick is well known for dining out! One of his passions is frequenting cafes and restaurants and, whilst this is intrinsically linked to his role, he would be dining out regardless of what he does for a living! He has also always had a love of music and has been an avid Clash fan since the age of 9. Seeing The Police live in Japan at age 10 ignited his passion for live music. Nick plays guitar and bass and, occasionally, drums and has a home recording studio to play in when he finds the time.
Nick really enjoys assisting sellers & buyers, and he is hugely respected for his professionalism, expert knowledge, and ability to make clients feel comfortable as he helps them achieve their unique business goals.
