This is an importer of beautiful wooden furniture – many pieces one-off as they are all hand made out of sustainably sourced hardwoods. Homewares and Garden products – again, many unique which is what draws their customers. Top that with a lot of core items that see a new order placed as stocks get low so that a new container load will arrive before stocks run out.
Agents overseas source products from multiple suppliers and send photos/prices via phone, WhatsApp and orders are placed. The agents handle all the paperwork and ensure containers are loaded and on the water as soon as possible. Shipping is taking a little longer stretching out from the usual 2-3 day delivery to at most two weeks. So there has been no real problem with supply at all over this last 18 months. Multiple suppliers also ensures no hold ups, if there is a problem with one supplier the agent on the ground will source from another.
Customers – mainly wholesaling to retailers, interior decorators. The demand to supply more retailers is there and is a quick way for a new owner to grow the business even more. The majority of sales are on-line sales making it a fairly simple business to operate. A lot of larger products are not even un-boxed and are just sent out again.
Fantastic business that has been operating for over 50 years and now needs a new owner to take it through its next 50.
