Majestic is a premium New Zealand café franchise company. The brand has made impressive progress since its inception in 2015 and already boasts 15 premium cafés throughout the country and with some exciting franchise opportunities already in the pipeline for both the North and South Island.
Whilst the company originally led the charge with tea as its key point of difference, Majestic has developed its offerings to be a premium café in the market. The Victorian themed fitouts are modern yet contemporary and offer every day frequent café visitors something that is a little different, a magical oasis like no other. Majestic is about the ‘whole experience’ of visiting a café.
Nick Giles of LINK Business Broking is offering one of Majestic’s newest cafés to the market for the very first time. Nick says, “Majestic Invercargill is a beautiful café and has already proven itself to be a strong and stable operation and it is now ready for its first Franchisee owner.”
The café is part of the ‘Esk Eats’ selection of dining options in the highly popular Invercargill Central shopping centre right in the heart of the city. Opened in July 2022, this is one impressive mall with a range of fantastic retailers and parking for 650 cars.
Nick talks more about the café, “This is an important store for the brand, so much so, that they opened the business themselves to establish properly. It opened its doors in June 2023 and is now nicely bedded in. Average weekly sales are an impressive $26,000 per week and this has been steady for the last 11 months.”
The owners of the Majestic brand have such a passion for the hospitality sector, and this is evident both in the quality of their cafés and products, as well as in how the company interacts with its Franchise Partners. Nick says, “The Founder was a Franchisee for a different company himself and decided that he could do better, so he set up his own company!” It’s this intimate knowledge of what a Franchisee goes through and the challenges that they face that inspires Majestic to offer the best support out there, 24/7.
Majestic Invercargill is open 7 days a week and currently operates to 6pm most nights. There is access to the café after normal shop hours and a new owner may decide to trade right up to 10pm if they wish.
Giles says, “The café enjoys coffee usage of between 25kg and 30kg per week and the split between food and beverages is around 60% in favour of food. The figures for this one are really impressive. It has been fully managed as a company-owned store and there is always a tendency for a Head Office to overcompensate on the staff front.” Despite this, there is a solid $200,000 here as a surplus to a working owner. Nick continues, “I would expect a new owner-operator to make efficiencies around wage costs to generate even more profit out of this business.”
This is your opportunity to own a premium café in a popular location. Nick sums up the opportunity, “The beauty of owning this one is that it has been fully tried and tested by Majestic themselves! All the hard work has been done! It’s a solid, profitable business and its available at an attractive price.”
